Poole Port, operated by the Poole Harbour Commissioners, has ferry routes to Cherbourg, St Malo, Guernsey and Jersey. Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries service these routes.

Poole to Cherbourg


Brittany Ferries operates a crossing to Cherbourg, France. The ferries run twice-daily crossings, and the trip takes about 4 hours, 15 minutes.


There is also a fast ferry available from May to September. The fast ferry makes the crossing in just over two hours. At the Cherbourg terminal, passengers can find facilities such as telephones, a baby changing room, showers, a bar, a bureau de change, a gift shop and a car park.

Poole to St Malo


Condor Ferries serves the route to St Malo, France. This crossing is available from May to September. The trip takes 4 hours, 30 minutes and runs several times a day. The port at St Malo is one of the largest ports in France, with about one million passengers travelling through it a year. It has all the usual facilities available at large ports.

Poole to Guernsey


Condor Ferries operates twice-daily services to St Peter Port in Guernsey. The journey takes about 2 hours, 30 minutes. This route runs from April to October. St Peter Port is a small port but has showers, telephones and a car park available to passengers.

Poole to Jersey


Condor Ferries also offers services to St Helier in Jersey. The ferry makes several runs daily. This route takes about 3 hours and runs from April to October. The port at St Helier is a new facility but only has basic amenities such as telephones, a car park and restrooms.
